Speed Skating

An important facet of the club since 1950, the clubs speed-skating program, has produced Olympic-level athletes. Aimed at skaters of all ages and skill levels, the program concentrates on technique, skill development, interval training and speed work. The WSC is also proud to be represented by Andrew Astalos. Andrew is a two-time North American Champion in Short Track Speedskating. He is one of two 12 year old skaters in the country who have qualified for Jr. Nationals in the 12-18 year old category.

Why skate with the WSC.....?????

Because our goal is to have FUN while teaching proper speed skating technique, discipline,
self-motivation, dedication, leadership, team-building and sportsmanship
.

Best of all is potential new members get to speedskate for one month free!!!

Many of our skaters are not only children, but their parents too.
Those family members who do not skate are invited to participate in club activities, making speedskating a family affair and a shared sporting pastime.
