SPEEDSKATING

An important facet of the club since 1950, the speedskating program has proudly produced one of America's most decorated female athletes of all times, speedskater and multi-medalist Olympian, Sheila Young, as well as Olympic medalist speedskater John Coyle.

Skating sessions run by experienced coaches are aimed at skaters of all ages and skill levels. The program emphasizes proper technique, discipline, self-motivation, team-building and sportsmanship. Skaters are groomed to compete in local, regional and national competition.

The WSC speedskating program runs year-round. Newcomers are always welcome to drop in and speedskates are available. We skate at the Hazel Park Ice Arena and the Ann Arbor Ice Cube.
